Coordinating with your doctor or

therapist at home

We here at Counseling Services have a long history of coordinating with psychiatrists, family practice physicans, psychotherapists and counselors of every stripe (clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, psychiatric nurses and both mental health and academic counselors) as well as with the pastors, ministers and rabbis of Tech students nationwide. If you have been under the care of a doctor, therapist, counselor or pastoral care professional back home, feel reassured that you can continue on here at Counseling Services and continue on the same track as what you were working on at home.

Primarily what we will need is a signed Release of Information from you giving us permission to contact your doctor or therapist back home. Once that is accomplished, we will generally coordinate our work with your therapist back home and continue on with you where you left off with your therapist. When you go home, your therapist or doctor can contact us, so that you can continue on at home where you left off with us at the time you left Houghton.

If you have any questions or concerns about coordinating with your at-home therapist, talk with us about it and we will clear it up together.
